The Gosei Maru was a submarine supply vessel., carrying torpedoes and depth charges. She was one of four cargo ships that were anchored off shore to the East of Uman Island, another was the Unkai Maru. She was hit by two Avenger Torpedo Bombers from the Carrier Monterey, on her starboard side and sunk very rapidly.

Wreck Description

The Gosei lies on her port side in about 35m of water, at the deepest end, on a slope; the stern is about 8m and the bow at 35m. The shallow stern provides a great view of the 4 blade propeller and rudder.

The holds are fairly empty, however there is a fair amount of debris including torpedo bodies, bottles and shells.
