The holiday chronicles

Chuuk 11.jpg

Welcome

What is this site about?

The following pages give an insight into my life by showing several of the overseas trips I've been on. My wife, Sally, and I both hold PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certifications and have been lucky enough to experience a wide range of diving in and around Perth and Rottnest Is, the HMAS Swan (Busselton) and Exmouth, along with several overseas locations; such as the shipwrecks of Chuuk Lagoon (Micronesia), Tulamben (Bali) and Vanuatu.

Diving Holidays

The highlight of our overseas diving has been our two trips to Chuuk Lagoon, Micronesia. We stayed aboard the dive boat the S.S. Thorfinn and enjoyed some of the best wreck diving in the world. Other dive expeditions have taken us to Tulumben (Indonesia) and Vanuatu. In Australia we have experienced a wide range of diving in and around Perth and Rottnest Is, the HMAS Swan (Busselton) and Exmouth,

Chuuk Lagoon, Micronesia

Operation Hailstone lasted for three days, as American carrier-based planes sank twelve smaller Japanese warships and thirty-two merchant ships, while destroying 275 aircraft; making Chuuk lagoon the biggest graveyard of ships in the world.

Skiing Holidays

We have travelled to Steamboat Springs (Colorado), Crested Butte (Colorado), Japan (Shiga Kogan, Tomamu, Kiroro, and Furano), Banff (Canada), Sun Peaks (Canada), Mt Hutt (New Zealand), and Mont Tremblant (Canada) skiing.

Sightseeing Holidays

We have also travelled to Hawaii, Guam, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Fiji, Japan (The Castles of Japan), Langkawi, Hong Kong, Niagara Falls, New York, the Ice Hotel (Canada), Egypt, Dubai, Turkey, and Penang, where we have enjoyed a range of activities, including sightseeing and relaxing.

Egypt

Egypt

Home of the Pharaohs, the Nile River, temples, museums, the pyramids (classic, bent, step, and others), there is so much to see and do in Egypt. Our first trip to Egypt was a 'toe in the water' principally to check out the pyramids.
